De Blasio jokes about ’50 Shades of Bill’ parody, asks for Dakota Johnson to play him in biopic

New York Mayor Bill De Blasio is not too bothered by being portrayed as the Anastasia Steele to Al Sharpton’s Christian Grey.

The ad by New York State Republicans mocks De Blasio as “dominated,” “tied up,” and “handcuffed” by his poor management of the city, with a sultry-looking Sharpton propping him up on his shoulder.

CBS New York reports that, asked Thursday about the ad, De Blasio said he hadn’t seen the movie or read any of the books, but would like Dakota Johnson to play him should anyone produce a biopic any time soon.

Al Sharpton’s pals were not as gracious. “The New York State Republican Party owes Rev. Al Sharpton and communities of color, particularly the African-American community, the LGBTQ community and the mayor an apology, and they need to immediately sever ties with whoever is responsible for this junk,” said a director from Sharpton’s National Action Network.
