Step aside, Joe Biden. You’re not the only TV star in town.
National Geographic‘s docu-drama television series “Locked Up Abroad” is taking a break from featuring drug smugglers to focus on two American war heroes: Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Ernie Brace, the longest-held POW in Vietnam.
Debuting on April 17, the show will retell the incredible story of how Brace and McCain met as fellow prisoners of war in Vietnam and forged a friendship.
McCain and Brace will take the audience step by step as they relive moments in their lives they would probably rather forget.
“This is an amazing survival story, an amazing story of heroism,” the Arizona Senator says in a video promoting the show. “It is a truly remarkable story. It should be told to every American.”
While it’s impossible to recreate their horrifying experiences as POWs, this show will surely shed some light on what American soldiers sacrifice for Americans’ freedoms.
