Sen. McCaskill’s unapologetic pig roast draws the ire of vegetarians.
Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo) upset more than a few of her roughly 95,000 Twitter followers this weekend when she decided to tweet an unusual photo from her son’s birthday barbeque.
The Democratic Senator took to Twitter on Saturday to inform the world of the delicious pig roast she was planning for her son’s birthday, and even included a few photos of pig, before and after it was roasted.

Unfortunately, even a tasty birthday barbeque is not exempt from the watchful eye of the P.C. police, who quickly showed up to crash the party.
Several of McCaskill’s Twitter followers immediately responded to her celebration by complaining that the delicious pig was “pretty gross” and “extremely upsetting for some people to see.”
@clairecmc #vegan dislike.

@clairecmc So that’s considered fun? Poor pig… Hope you don’t post stuff like this often. Barbaric.

Having now upset some of her followers, the Senator from Missouri had to act fast. In a follow-up tweet, she apologized for offending any vegans on Twitter.
Goodness gracious. So sorry I offended so many vegans. In Missouri we raise pigs and cattle and chickens to eat them.

Way to stand up to the P.C. police Sen. McCaskill. We hope your pig was as delicious as it looked.
