Trump says he won’t ‘call Megyn Kelly a bimbo,’ retweets supporter calling her a ‘bimbo’

The beef Donald Trump has with Megyn Kelly doesn’t seem to be cooling down any time soon. Trump has refused to participate in Thursday’s Fox News debate, since the network is standing by its moderator, Megyn Kelly. In an official statement, Fox even mentioned that the Trump campaign threatened Kelly.

Now, Trump is retweeting supporters who call Kelly a “bimbo,” even after he said he wouldn’t do so.

Such is a shocking display of Trump actually being politically correct, or mocking the idea of being politically correct, even when it helps to be. We all know he considers Kelly a “lightweight reporter,” so what is the point of his tweet then?

There are those lucky supporters which Trump often retweets, even in this case where they contradict what he’s actually said. Like this time.

The tweet resurfaces a photo shoot from GQ which hardly includes the worst poses a woman has ever been in for a men’s magazine. Talking about men’s magazines objectifying women is perhaps a legitimate issue, but a well-respected journalist should be left alone.

This feud has now gone from a silly temper tantrum from the GOP front-runner to an embarrassing display of sexism. Perhaps Kelly’s question from the very first debate, which angered him in the first place, had a legitimate point to it.

Of all these derogatory remarks made about women, it’s not a shameful embarrassing that could hurt the GOP against the Democrats for the general election — it’s a dangerous liability which could cost Republicans four or even eight years out of the White House.
