Stephen Colbert calls for a boycott of water in response to Michelle Obama’s ‘Drink Up’ campaign

Stephen Colbert is sick and tired of Michelle Obama’s health campaign, especially her recent effort to get Americans to drink more water. In response, the comedian is organizing a boycott of water.

On Monday night’s episode of ‘The Colbert Report,’ the host criticized the First Lady for her ‘Let’s Move’ healthy eating and exercise campaign and its latest extension, ‘Drink Up.’

“Ever since she started her ‘Let’s Move’ campaign to combat childhood obesity, she’s been cramming her pro-health agenda down our throats, throats that should be packed with chili cheese fries as God intended,” Colbert said.

He called for a boycott of water in order to spite the “Nanny in Chief” for going too far with her push for health.

To get enough liquids, Colbert suggested that people can simply eat watermelon-flavored Jolly Ranchers, since “water is right in the name.” He also pointed out that Jesus hated water — since that’s why he turned it into wine and walked on top of it.
