Allen West feels the heat from CNN over RAP’s Communist question

Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., felt the heat from CNN’s Soledad O’Brien Thursday for his comments at a fundraiser last week that the Democratic members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus are “communists.”

The Tea Party freshman restated his contention that the caucus’s ideology was “communist” and that he did not care to elaborate on who the individual “card carrying members of the Communist Party” were.

West told O’Brien, repeating what he told Red Alert Politics on Tuesday, that the CPC’s ideology is communistic:

“Communist, progressive, Marxist, statist… I’m looking at the ideologies, I’m looking at the things they believe in and if you don’t think that we have to stand upon truth and be able to identify and clearly contrast the different principles and values and ideologies… here in this country then we’re never going to get to the fact of accepting the true debate that is happening in America. We don’t need a bureaucratic nanny state. We need to stay a Constitutional Republic.”
