Calif. Dem. accuses GOP leadership of being ‘Wolves of Wall Street’

Although it didn’t win any awards at the 86th Annual Academy Awards Sunday night, the Martin Scorsese-Leonardo DiCaprio biopic “The Wolf of Wall Street” managed to nonetheless make waves in the political Twitterverse.

That’s because California Rep. Mark Takano, a Democrat representing the state’s 41st Congressional District, unsuccessfully tried to tie key Congressional Republicans to the movie about the epic rise and fall of Wall Street stockbroker Jordan Belfort.

Takano’s tweet wasn’t public long, however, before the freshman Congressman was called out on its hypocritical message.

Takano’s tweet also comes just a day after the Democratic National Committee’s official Twitter account erroneously tweeted that former President Ronald Reagan served in Congress.
