Lawrence O’Donnell again has grouped the National Rifle Association (NRA) with mass murderers in the wake of a national tragedy — and this time, he made his case in a global context.
Consistent with previous statements and diatribes, the MSNBC host of “The Last Word” accused the NRA on his show last night of being complicit in ensuring that those with the intent to do widespread harm are well-armed, and that no one in the world does it better.
“We know that the next time someone mows down children in a school, or students on a college campus, or people who mistakenly think they are safe in their workplace, the people who work hard to allow this to happen will be silent, as they were today,” O’Donnell began. “Wayne LaPierre and the lobbyists at the National Rifle Association — who make sure that America’s mass murderers are the very best-equipped mass murderers in the world — will be silent the day after the next mass murder.”
