Occupy CPAC #Fail

Occupy DC came to protest CPAC on Friday afternoon, fully equipped with banners and a large yellow “fat cat” balloon.

Police officers kept conference attendees safe, and blocked occupiers from coming up to the Marriott where the conference was taking place. Conference attendees were told to “stay on the sidewalk” as they made their way down from the conference building to Connecticut Ave. for lunch.

At 1:50, about 200 of the occupiers departed from the hotel to march down Connecticut Avenue NW toward the Woodley Park Zoo. Several police cruisers chaperoned the entourage. Traffic was blocked as they marched in the street, carrying banners that read, “We are the 99%,” and chanted, “Who’s DC? Our DC!”

A few occupiers remained on the sidewalk outside of the Marriott in order to carry on conversations with CPAC attendees.
