In response to President Obama’s arrogant comments about American’s lacking the ability to build their own business without assistance, Mitt Romney released an ad that featured a small business owner condemning the President’s remarks. But in a tit-for-tat move, the Obama reelection team released an ad in response to Romney’s small business attack ad.
Unable to defend the outrageous comments made by their boss, the Obama campaign is resorting to their favored tactic of smearing an individual, in order to make that person’s ad appear less effective. Their new ad, cleverly titled “Tampered,” attempts to say that Mitt Romney’s new ad is misleading, and that his campaign has released misleading ads before.
However, Obama’s attempt to portray the Romney campaign as misleading falls short, in part due to the hypocrisy of the “Tampered” ad.
“Tampered,” does not show the entire context of Obama’s controversial speech; instead, it highlights one small clip of the President saying, “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that.” The Obama campaign chose to not display more content from speech, thus giving an incomplete description of the President’s comments.
And they claim Mitt Romney is “misleading.”
Luckily for the Obama “Truth Team,” the liberal “fact-checker” retained by The Washington Post has quickly jumped to his defense, and has heavily defended Obama in the fallout from his own words on small business creation.
