Hillary Clinton not fazed by poll showing nearly 30 point drop with women

Hillary Clinton is not fazed by her huge drop in the polls. That’s the image she’s trying to uphold, at least.

A recently released ABC News/Washington Post poll shows that Hillary Clinton dropped to earning the vote of only a plurality of Democratic leaning voters, at 42 percent, if the election were held today.

The Washington Post also points out how Clinton has lost 29 points among Democratic women. She is down from 71 percent in July to 42 this month. That’s a nearly 30 point decrease from a healthy majority to a mere plurality in just 8 weeks.

Support from white Democratic women is even lower for Hillary, with 37 percent supporting her. Among nonwhites, it’s at 60 percent.

Hillary chalked it up to “an ebb and flow.” She also still claims to be “very confident.”

Not only did she not seem to take her polls number seriously, but she had trouble answering a question, twice. ABC News reported that Hillary was asked about Bernie Sanders by a student and a reporter.

Declining to explain the policy differences between herself and Sanders, she instead reiterated “she is not threatened.” It turned out though that Alexander Fox, a 20-year old sophomore who had asked, was “kind of undecided.”

It looks like Hillary may have missed an opportunity then.
