Stephen Colbert ‘gets lucky’ with Henry Kissinger

Tuesday night’s Colbert Report shined some light on a Viacom family fight, when Stephen Colbert announced that the French duo Daft Punk would not be appearing on his show because sister network MTV had called exclusive dibs.

“These Daft Punk guys are French, they’re not really into monogamous relationships,” Colbert stated. “I thought we could have a menage-a-show and maybe they could do us both.” They didn’t, instead opting for MTV’s Music Video Awards, leaving Colbert without a guest to sing to his audience the “song of summer.”

Then things got weird.

Colbert announced he had been “Daft Punk’d,” prompting “Punk’d” host Ashton Kutcher to stop by.

Then Colbert decided it was time for his own rendition of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and he danced.

He danced around Henry Kissinger’s Washington office and on the set of Charlie Rose’s show. Rose was interviewing the cast of “Breaking Bad” when Colbert shimmied in. Colbert stole “Breaking Bad” star Bryan Cranston and the two did a choreographed dance atop roller skates. Colbert also danced with a grizzled-looking Jon Stewart, with Jimmy Fallon, Hugh Laurie, Jeff Bridges, the folks from “America’s Got Talent” and the Rockettes.

On top of that, Robin Thicke, the singer of the other “song of summer” happened to be sitting in Colbert’s audience and happily sang “Blurred Lines” to the crowd.
