Mass shootings are not something to joke about, unless you’re Bill Maher.
The openly liberal Real Time with Bill Maher host took conservative support for the Second Amendment to a new extreme Friday night when he insinuated that conservatives are pro-mass shooting.
“Now that liberals have forwarded their agenda by inserting a mass gay wedding into the Grammys, conservatives must match them tit-for-tat by having a mass shooting at the Country Music Awards,” Maher said.
Maher has taken jabs at gun advocates in the past, but never to the extreme of implying that they support mass shootings. Or implying that conservatives view mass shootings in the same light as liberals view gay weddings.
Twitter didn’t respond well to Maher’s comparison, of course.
@JudiU883 Love @billmaher, but that was in bad taste. Zero funny abt shootings in USA. Know he’s making a point, but he’s too smart for that

Seriously? Joking about mass shootings. You’re so funny Bill Maher.

Saying “there should be a mass shooting at the CMA’s” because most of them are conservatives, is disgusting. Go to hell, Bill Maher.

Maher is known for strongly opposing the gun rights inherent in the Second Amendment.
During his first Real Time episode of the year, he closed with a list of New Year’s resolutions for America, including to stop hanging onto outdated things like the Second Amendment just because it’s tradition. Last year, the TV show host went as far to call the Second Amendment “bulls**t” even though he has a gun and openly stated that he isn’t planning on giving it up.
Sorry to ruin Bill Maher’s day, but the last place there’ll be a mass shooting is at the Country Music Awards. #LockedAndLoaded #tcot #nra

Paul definitely has a point.
