California is most hated state in union, poll shows

Congratulations, California! You are officially the most disliked state in the union.

A Fox News poll conducted at the end of September found that among individuals who would vote a single state out of the union if they could, 53 percent said they would vote to expel California.

Behind California was New York, which won 25 percent of the vote to be expelled. Texas came in third with 20 percent.

The study found that 17 percent of individuals would vote a particular state or states out of the union if they could, while 81 percent could not think of a state they would want to vote out.

When asked which way they would vote in “an election on whether or not to split from the United States” in their respective states, 9 percent of respondents said they would vote yes, while an overwhelming 87 percent replied they would vote no.

This 9 percent seems low, considering a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted between August and September showed that nearly one quarter of Americans support the idea of secession. Perhaps a significant number embrace the thought of secession, but would not welcome secession itself.

Nevertheless, it’s fair to say Americans are pretty turned off by two things: Secession and Hollywood.
