Chris Christie: Path to citizenship for illegal immigrants is ‘an extreme way to go’

Fox News’ Megyn Kelly sat down with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) Monday as he shared his stance on immigration reform, Hillary Clinton, and the state of police in America today.

Christie, a potential 2016 GOP candidate, called a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants in America “an extreme way to go” and called Clinton’s support of such a path “pandering and politics.”

Kelly pointed out that Christie has changed his mind on this subject since 2010. But this statement is also in direct contrast to one Christie gave in a town hall meeting in New Jersey just last week.

“There are a lot of folks who come across our borders who are not enemies. We have to encourage immigration in a legal fashion. But I think it’s important to remember this is a country that’s built on immigrants,” Christie said at that time.
