Bill Maher targets Republican Rep. John Kline, compares him to Ebola and ISIS

Liberal comedian Bill Maher announced who he calls the “winning loser” in Congress during a live taping of “Real Time with Bill Maher” in Washington, D.C., Friday, and that loser is Rep. John Kline (R-Minn.).

Maher will campaign against Kline from now until the November elections in an effort to “flip” the Republican’s Minnesota district to Democrat in his “Flip a District” challenge. The comedian’s viewers chose Kline from a list of 16 potential targets for the challenge.

“He’s one of those silent threats you never see coming: Ebola. ISIS. John Kline,” Maher described. “He’s not funny, just wrong about everything. And more than anyone else we could find, he embodies the easily swayed oars and sellouts who keep this town running.”

Maher is particularly against Kline for his effort to repeal Obamacare, his position against gay marriage, and his denial to vote for funds to study climate change, among other things.

Maher dealt Kline several insults during the live segment of his show, but insisted that the challenge “isn’t about [himself]” but rather is about standing up for Americans.

“This isn’t about me,” alleged Maher. “It’s about how Americans have had crummy, corrupt representation for so long, they’ve just accepted these people hanging around.”

The comedian’s “Flip a District” webpage asks Americans to help “boot America’s lamest congressman out of office” by spreading the word of Maher’s campaign on social media.

Kline has represented Minnesota’s 2nd district since 2002 and is currently being challenged by Democrat Mike Obermueller.
