[WATCH] Kimmel traps people weighing in on the State of the Union before it even happened

Tired of all the politicians and pundits weighing in after the State of the Union? Then watch this video of ordinary Americans weighing in before the President’s address even happened.

On Monday and Tuesday, comedian Jimmy Kimmel sent his camera crew down to Hollywood Boulevard to ask pedestrians what they thought of President Barack Obama’s remarks — which occurred on Tuesday night. And despite the fact that none of the people interviewed could have possibly seen the speech, everyone seemed eager to give their opinion on it.

“I thought it was powerful,” one man said. “I thought that he laid a lot the same sort of policies that he’s laid out all along.”

Kimmel’s interviewer soon began grilling the pedestrians, asking about things like Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) falling asleep and Obama’s odd necktie.

“I mean, I support the weird tie,” a young man said. “That’s what I do. I support trying to be kind of like — trying to get different with the fashion.”

As the interviewer continued to press, people got more and more elaborate in trying to hide the fact that they were lying. And the result is a must-watch video.
