Public Notice video compares Congress with slackers living in their parents’ basements

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3kg7WcvJ_M]A new video from Public Notice Research & Educational Fund aims to humorously poke fun at Congress’s inability to live within its means, suggesting it has as much responsibility as a slacker living in his parents’ basement.

The video compares the daily routines of a congressman and a slacker who lives irresponsibly and wastes time.

The group says the fact Congress has not passed a budget in three years speaks for itself and shows that Washington prefers to play politics rather than act responsibly.

“Irresponsible is irresponsible, whether it’s a guy who sits at home eating chips in his pajamas everyday or a member of Congress who wears a suit to work but fails to do his or her job,” Gretchen Hamel, executive director of Public Notice Research & Educational Fund. “It’s time for Washington to act responsibly because I definitely don’t want them moving into my basement.”
