Are we seeing a Trump-Carson feud?

On Thursday, a new poll for Iowa showed that there’s a new front-runner. Ben Carson has taken over Donald Trump’s lead.

CNN reported that Donald Trump, who had actually warned he would go after Carson if he surpassed him in polls, mocked Carson at on Friday.

While pretending to read a headline, Trump read “Donald Trump falls to second place behind Ben Carson. We informed Ben, but he was sleeping.”

He let what may have been his real emotions show on Saturday, when he exclaimed “I don’t know what the hell is going on there,” he said. “I don’t get it!”

Trump had also regarded Carson as “super low energy,” while issuing a reminder that what we actually need is “tremendous energy.”

And, Trump addressed Carson on a pre-taped State of the Union interview. He said he was “really surprised,” and that it means “it means I have to work a little bit harder in Iowa.”

Carson had a response to the “low energy”comments, as he discussed his role as doctor:

“My energy levels are perfectly fine,” Carson said in Iowa. “As I’ve said many times, there have been many times where I’ve operated 12, 15, 20 hours, and that requires a lot of energy. Doesn’t require a lot of jumping up and down and screaming, but it does require a lot of concentration.”

Those who are looking for more of a Trump-Carson feud than that may be disappointed, however.

On the Oct. 23 episode of With All Due Respect, Carson mentioned that he won’t attack Trump, and that Trump has actually been generally nice to him:

If he does attack me, I’ll continue to talk about issues. I just really don’t buy into the attack-your-fellow-Republicans thing. I’m just not going to do that.
My personal interactions with him have shown him to be a gentleman. I think there’s another element sometimes when he’s on camera.
