Dem magician-turned-congressman starts weekly video series

Democratic Rep. Mark Pocan of Wisconsin might be a magician, but he’s definitely not a comedian.

The second-term congressman is kicking of the new Congress by starting his own weekly video series called “Magic Mondays” in order to show viewers (however few there may be) how Washington works using skills he acquired as a young magician during college.

“Doing magic was a great preparation for a career in politics,” says Pocan in the first video. “Think about it: Misdirection, slight of hand, deception. Heck, that sounds like Speaker Boehner’s 2015 agenda! Just kidding, Mr. Speaker.”

Hilarious.

The first episode of “Magic Mondays” finds Pocan performing a card trick to demonstrate how “politicians too often say one thing and do another.”
