Former R.I. Gov. Lincoln Chafee is no longer running for president. His decision to withdraw from the race received almost as little attention as his campaign did.
CNN reported that he made the announcement on Friday:
On Thursday, Chafee mentioned the forum on Twitter, and hinted that he would be dropping out.
I look forward to speaking at DNC Women’s Forum tomorrow morning. I’ll address my future in the campaign there. #chafee2016

Saturday Night Live may have also jokingly and unintentionally predicted Chafee’s departure. During the Oct. 17 episode re-creation of the first Democratic debate, Kyle Mooney playing Chafee quipped “well, goodnight America, bye forever!”
While polling at less than 1 percent, Chafee was certainly a long-shot candidate. His departure came the same week as Sen. Jim Webb’s and when vice-president Joe Biden announced he’s not running. The next debate will likely feature three candidates then, and further solidifies Hillary’s chances as the Democratic nominee.
