Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart took some major digs at the media Wednesday night, mocking networks for covering Beyonce’s sister mercilessly, just as they did with the missing Malaysian plane.

In a segment aptly titled “A Roc Nation in Crisis: Trouble in Beyadise,” Stewart analyzed the mainstream media’s constant coverage of the fight that broke out between Beyonce’s sister, Solange, and her husband, Jay-Z, in an elevator.

“It’s been a hard time for the news media lately. It all seems to hopeless. And then, a miracle,” the Comedy Central host said.

Stewart then flashed to a montage of footage from a variety of networks including CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and NBC as their anchors discuss the feud, which was caught on video by gossip site TMZ.

“News powers activate, form of baseless speculation,” he said.

Stewart then featured correspondents attempting to determine just what caused Solange to go off on her brother-in-law, from shallow speculation of the singer just being intoxicated to psychological analysis of Solange sticking up for Beyonce for an unknown reason.

“But then suddenly, like a heeled foot crashing through a frame, it all came crashing down,” Stewart said solemnly.

Enter Wall Street Journal editor Christopher John Farley.

“I got to rain on the parade a little bit here because I don’t know what happened in the elevator, and I don’t care,” he said on CNN’s “New Day.”

Farley, who said there was no real story behind Jay-Z and Solange’s feud, ticked off CNN’s Don Lemon, while Chris Cuomo said he was placing unrealistic expectations on the fourth estate.

“You’re placing a high bar that is clearly not observed certainly not by the entertainment media, but by the media overall,” he said. “I like your bar. I wish it were the reality. I wish it were the truth. I wish I didn’t have to cover it.”
