Hillary Clinton has long been regarded as the Democratic front-runner. That could all change now with poll results from Iowa and N.H. The two states are the first chance voters have to pick the nominee, and are especially watched closely.
A Real Clear Politics average poll shows Sanders polling ahead of Clinton 42.3-34.7. This is consistent with other polls, and shows a victory outside the margin of error.
In Iowa, Sanders’ lead over Clinton of 41-40 is not as dominant. The results from the Quinnipiac poll are significant for other reasons, however. In July, Clinton had a 52-33 lead over Sanders.
The Quinnipiac poll also points out that Sanders received higher marks than Clinton with “honesty and empathy.”
If these poll results keep up, trouble could lie ahead for Hillary Clinton.
