Sen. Rand Paul announced on Hannity last night that he will not do any interviews with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos because of his close ties to the Clintons.
Paul called the news anchor a “partisan” and said that the fact that he portrays himself as nonpartisan is “a breach of journalistic etiquette.”
News broke Thursday that Stephanopoulos had given more than $50,000 to the Clinton Foundation, but never disclosed the donations to his viewers. Stephanopoulos had “reported” on the donations multiple times on ABC.
“He’s interviewing the guy investigating the Clinton Foundation and not revealing he’s a donor to the Clinton Foundation– there’s a direct conflict of interest,” Paul said.
Host Sean Hannity said that it is ridiculous that Stephanopoulos is the face of ABC’s 2016 Sunday news coverage and Paul made the perfect comparison.
“I grew up partisan. I spent my whole life as a partisan,” he said.
“I don’t think I’m going to get the Sunday talk show as a nonpartisan ever because my whole life has been spent as someone who believes in a certain point of view toward limited government.”
