In an effort to distance herself from the other candidates, Carly Fiorina grabbed early attention on Russia and foreign policy in the Middle East.
“I wouldn’t talk with Vladimir Putin at all,” Fiorina said at the CNN Republican debate.
To strengthen the American position, she wants to rebuild the 6th Fleet of the Navy, strengthen a missile-defense program in Europe, and station more American soldiers in Europe.
“Russia is a bad actor, but Vladimir Putin is someone we should not talk to,” Fiorina emphasized.
To shore up American alliances in the Middle East, she wants to move forward on supplying arms and weapons to Jordan as well as Kurdish forces in Syria and Iraq, and share intelligence with Egypt to prevent a Russian-Egyptian alliance.
Later in the debate, Fiorina expanded on her foreign policy, stating that she would reassure Israel of American support while driving a hard line on Iran.
