Now that Bernie Sanders has officially endorsed Hillary Clinton, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson is taking full advantage to appeal to his supporters in a viral campaign video aptly titled “After the Bern.”
In the video, Johnson took a liberty angle, asking viewers “you think Hillary Clinton is going to stand up for your civil rights,” before telling them he’s received a higher ACLU rating than Barack Obama and Ron Paul.
Johnson criticized Hillary’s vote for the Iraq War, as Bernie Sanders has done, and for her decision to bomb Libya, “and ISIS rushed to fill the void those conflicts left behind.”
While Johnson has never supported bombing Libya or the Iraq war, he’s “always stood up for drug policy and criminal justice reform” he reminded viewers. “If you’re still feeling the bern and feeling burned because the Clinton machine rolled over your ideals, there is another option,” Johnson continued, as he told viewers the Libertarian Party will be on the ballot in all 50 states and asked them to “please Google Gary Johnson.”
Johnson has been something of a memorable viral hit before, including last month during his segment on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee.
He’s also risen to second place among millennials to beat Trump in a recent Pew poll, a group which definitively supported Sanders in the primary but has yet to enthusiastically and completely commit to supporting Hillary.
