Drexel professor who called for “white genocide” won’t be fired [VIDEO]

Donald Trump’s presidential victory was a statement against, amongst other things, rampant political correctness and double standards against conservatives in Western society. Someone forgot to inform professors on campuses across America — especially the most recent case, Drexel’s George Ciccariello-Maher.

The Associate Professor of Politics and Global Studies tweeted on Christmas Eve, “All I want for Christmas is white genocide.”

After a huge backlash, Ciccariello made his Twitter account private. Drexel issued a statement on Christmas Day saying they had set up a meeting to discuss their course of action further.

A Change.org petition in support of Ciccariello has garnered nearly 8,700 signatures as of December 28th. The petition defends the professor’s commitment to equality and academic freedom, although ironically it also says, “Let Drexel know–in the midst of the deafening, organized troll-storm–that racist trolls deserve no platform in dictating academic discourse, let alone the off-duty tweets of academics.”

As one Drexel student pointed out in a Facebook live video, “racism” includes the word RACE, and includes discrimination against all groups, including whites.

Nick Nanakos, a junior at Drexel majoring in finance and real estate, published a video in which he takes a stand and goes against what most would call freedom of speech.

“Imagine the backlash that would be going on right now if a professor came out and had said that they want a genocide of all Muslims, or all homosexuals, or all blacks? So why is it ok and dismissed in the liberal mindset when you can call for a white genocide? That’s not really freedom of speech.”

Nanakos goes on to say that while people have the right to say what they want, it doesn’t mean everyone has to respect or accept it.

He then makes a direct message to several of his liberal friends defending the professor. He notes that the same people advocating for safe spaces on campus and protection from controversial speakers are the ones looking the other way when professors on their own campus are calling for white genocide. According to Collegedata.com, 63.8% of Drexel’s student body is white.

“You do realize racism is not only aimed towards blacks or minorities; it’s called racism, it has the word race in it, that includes white people,” Nanakos says in the video.

Nanakos issued a direct challenge to Drexel President John Fry to fire Ciccariello-Maher, giving an ultimatum that any other action would be considered an endorsement of these views.

Finally, there’s a challenge to like-minded conservative individuals on campus to voice their opinion:

“A lot of people feel the same way as I do, but they’re afraid to voice their opinion. You shouldn’t be. The radical liberals on the left aren’t at all. And it’s time that we should sign a petition, just like they are, and speak up for our beliefs. Things are different now. This isn’t 2008 to 2016 where we have to be silenced.”

Ciccariello-Maher said that the professor wouldn’t be disciplined by the University, and “reiterated their support for faculty who participate in vigorous public debate, as well as concern for the safety of myself, my family, and others in this unpredictable post-election climate.”
