Evidently, the Obama campaign is continuing to look toward celebrities to bolster support for the president and the first family. BarackObama.com uploaded a video on Monday that features singer Beyoncé praising the first lady “for everything she’s doing for our country, and also for women around the world.”
Beyoncé reads from a letter she wrote to Michelle Obama while her handwriting flashes on screen: “Michelle is the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman. She is a caring mother, she’s a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the FIRST LADY!!!!”
She continues to read from the letter, “No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope—she’s humble, loving, and sincere. She builds and nurtures her family while also looking out for so many millions in so many ways.”
Clips of the first lady dancing with the president, hugging her daughters, and speaking in front of children and veterans come on screen as Beyoncé explains her awe of Michelle Obama: “she encourages me to live a healthy lifestyle, to support our veterans.”
Then, the singer returns to the letter which once again pops up on screen: “Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that u [sic] do for us—I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to. Love, Beyoncé.”
Among other celebrities that have demonstrated their support for President Obama are pop singer Katy Perry, actress Sarah Jessica Parker, and editor-in-chief of American Vogue. Anna Wintour.
