Flight Time Dribbles His Way To DC

He may have missed St. Patrick’s Day by a few days, but Harlam Globetrotter Herbert “Flight Time” Lang will be having his own parade of sorts today in Washington, D.C.

The 13 year Globetrotter veteran arrives in the District today and, in Globetrotter fashion, it will be quite the spectacle. Instead of taking a car from Virginia to D.C., Flight Time plans on taking his basketball skills on the road—literally.

Starting at Arlington National Cemetery at 1:30 pm, Flight Time will dribble and spin a basketball across the Key Bridge down to the Lincoln Memorial, a 1.2 mile journey in total. This kicks off DC Globetrotters Week, which will include games on March 24 and 25 plus several Goodwill visits and school trips.

Flight Time is no stranger to the limelight. He and teammate Nathaniel “Big Easy” Lofton competed on the CBS reality show, the Amazing Race, for season 15 and placed fourth. The duo was so popular they were invited back for Season 18: Unfinished Business and came in second.  Flight Time has also recently shown an interest in competing on Dancing with the Stars.

If you will already be in the DC area this week, think about catching a game. The Globetrotters will be at the Verizon Center on Saturday, March 24 at 1 pm and at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va. at 7:30 pm that evening and again the following day, Sunday March 25 at 2 pm. Visit their website to purchase tickets and to find out when the Globetrotters will be coming to a city near you.
