Taking a break from an economic talking tour and his feud with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Barack Obama arrived Saturday in Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., for a vacation with his family — and the first activity on his agenda is anything but a surprise.
What’s perhaps is surprising, however, is that the POTUS might not be a very good golfer.
Joined by Sam Kass, Marvin Nicholson and Robert Wolf, President Obama went golfing on Sunday morning, according to the press pool report. But after getting a rare glimpse at Obama’s golf game, the pool reported that he struggled on the first hole.
“His first put was a miss, which Obama reacted to by leaning back and kicking his knee up, as if trying to coax the ball into breaking right,” the report read.
The moment produced a hilarious photo, which quickly became a Twitter hit:

While hitting the links was to be expected, the President’s excursion to Farm Neck Golf Club won’t be his only means of relaxation. Two bags of basketballs were unloaded from one of the two MV-22 Osprey helicopters after the POTUS and FLOTUS touched down in Air Force One on Saturday, according to The Boston Globe.
The First Family will be staying at $7.6 million resort home of Chicago corporate finance manager David Schulte, as The Washington Examiner reported. Further accommodations for the President’s stay include the installment of telephone and communications lines on the island and the closure of a road near the First Family’s vacation spot which, according to some locals, will create quite the inconvenience.
“My response to this is we’ve had the president come to our town three times and it’s been very cordial and there’s been very little disruption and we love to have him — this would change that approach … and be very disruptive,” Selectman Warren Doty told The Vineyard Gazette.
Regardless, White House spokesman Jay Carney said the President’s vacation will give him a time to rest up before returning to the White House next Sunday.
“I know he’s looking forward very much to some downtime with his family, with the first lady, and I’m sure he’ll see some friends,” Carney said.
