[WATCH] Editor Francesca Chambers discusses pro-life legislation, minimum wage and Obamacare

Red Alert Politics editor Francesca Chambers appeared on Russia Today‘s “The Big Picture” with host Thom Hartmann to discuss abortion legislation, the minimum wage and Obamacare.

Francesca was joined on ‘The Politics Panel’ by Kay Steiger, managing editor of Raw Story, and Neil McCabe, conservative commentator and editor of the “Guns and Patriots” newsletter.

Francesca called out Hartmann for trying to connect pro-life legislation to so-called Republican voter discrimination, explaining that those two things were in no way related. She also pointed out that the chance of death from an abortion greatly increases after the 20th week of pregnancy.

On the point of raising the minimum wage, Francesca argued that young people would be priced out of jobs. She argued that young people being paid $7.25 an hour at their jobs is better than the likely alternative — unemployment — if the minimum wage is substantially increased.

Francesca also pointed out that both progressives and conservatives are spending large amounts of money to run ad campaigns about Obamacare. Many employers are trying to get out of paying for their employees healthcare, she added, simply because they can’t afford it.  She also called out Steiger, who claimed it was “too early to tell” whether or not Obamacare would work.
