Millennials on Yik-Yak love Mike Pence

Indiana Governor and Donald Trump’s running mate Mike Pence may not have seemed to offer the ticket much for millennials, but about half of the demographic had positive things to say about him on Yik-Yak, a popular social media platform.

The Daily Dot monitored reactions from Yik-Yak users, 98 percent of which are millennials, during the Republican National Convention and found enthusiastic support for Pence.

According to a Yik-Yak poll from before Pence was ultimately chosen, only 8 percent chose him to be Donald Trump’s running mate.

Pence accepted the nomination for vice president in his Wednesday night speech at the convention. The well-regarded speech became overshadowed however by Melania Trump’s Monday speech and Ted Cruz getting booed by the audience for refusing to endorse Trump when he gave his own speech on Wednesday.

Hillary Clinton has meanwhile chosen Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, though Yik-Yak users have expressed mixed feelings about the pick.
