She’s not done yet! After musing about leaving the GOP last month, the latest news from Sarah Palin is that she is considering a run for the Alaska Senate seat of Mark Begich (D).
Palin spoke about her next possible political move on Sean Hannity’s radio show on Tuesday.
“I’ve considered it because people have requested me considering it, but I’m still waiting to see what the lineup will be,” she said on the show.
Palin also expressed her opinion on Begich.
“He has not done what he has promised to do for the people of Alaska, and that was to represent what it is that the nation needs in terms of energy development and so many other natural resource development issues that are near and dear to an Alaskan’s heart,” Palin said. “Because he’s on the wrong side of the aisle, he has to go along to get along with his Democrat leadership, and that’s a shame. That’s a waste of opportunity for our nation.”
When Hannity asked Palin what it would take for her to throw her name into the race, she said she would do anything she could to help the cause.
“Well, I think any American with a heart for service has to always have in the back of their mind that they would do anything, everything that they could, to help the cause, even if perhaps if it’s something that doesn’t look necessarily appealing or necessarily fitting in with a conventional plan,” she said.
“I would do whatever I could to help, and if that was part of that help, then it would have to be considered,” she added.
If Palin decides to run, she may be up against the Republican candidate she endorsed in the last Alaska Senate election, Joe Miller. However, it looks like the former Governor has a surprising ‘supporter’ of her own — from the other side of the aisle.
Jim Messina, President Obama’s 2012 campaign manager, reacted to Palin’s news on Twitter on Tuesday, saying that her run would be a good thing for Democrats.
Candidate @sarapalin? Could anything be better for natl Dems? This my R friends is guaranteed not to fix your problems. . .
