The woman who accused Bill Clinton of sexual harassment is speaking out against Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.
Paula Jones, who alleged in 1994 that then-President Clinton sexually harassed her three years prior when he was serving as governor of Arkansas, gave an exclusive interview to the Daily Mail during which she exclaimed that Hillary “should not be running” for the White House.
“There is no way that she did not know what was going on, that women were being abused and accosted by her husband,” said Jones, whose lawsuit gave way to the discovery of the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
“Who would want Bill Clinton back a second time, doing the same stuff he was doing before, philandering with women?” Jones asked. “They have both lied. He does not have a right to be in the White House to serve the people the way he treated women, sexually harassing women. There were many women that came out and spoke out about what he did to them.”
“He does not have a place in the White House to serve the American people,” she added.
The 48-year-old Arkansas native characterized the relationship between Bill and Hillary as abnormal, labeling it merely a “political” partnership.
She also suggested that the former secretary of state’s reaction to her husband’s scandals is proof enough that she can’t relate to or represent regular Americans.
“If she is for the everyday person why did she not stand up for the women when she knew what her husband did?” wondered Jones.
“The Clintons don’t care what they do, who they run over to get to the top,” she said. “It is all about political status.”
Jones also wondered why Hillary even thinks she can run away with the presidency given her family’s former scandals.
“I just think it’s a very bad thing. How she has the balls to think she can get away with it with all the scandal behind her name?” said Jones. “I don’t understand how. She will not be getting my vote and I know a lot of people personally that sure don’t want her.”
Like the majority of Americans, Jones refuses to view Hillary as trustworthy, citing her “dead broke” comments to Diane Sawyer last year as evidence of her dishonesty.
“When she left the White House she said she was broke,” explained Jones. “How can you be broke coming out of the White House? She had all these deals, books deals. They are just not truthful. There is a history of not being truthful. I would not believe anything they said. I really don’t know why she wants to run, I suppose it is an ego thing.”
Jones isn’t the only figure of past Clinton scandals to emerge with Hillary’s presidential run. Monica Lewinsky has also reentered the public sphere following years concealing herself from the press.
