Senior Obama strategist David Axelrod said Friday that he has never seen President Obama more fired up and enthusiastic.
Axelrod told reporters that he has known the President for more than 20 years and has never seen him, “more exhilarated than he is right now.”
“You can see in the speech that he’s delivering that he, that this is coming from his loins,” Axelrod said, according to POLITICO. “I just wanted to say loins. I wanted to see if I could get loins in the story.”
Ummm, what? Maybe Axelrod is taking a page out of Vice President Joe Biden’s latest book of odd comments from left field.
Nevertheless, Obama does seem to be pulling out all the stops when it comes to this final stretch of his political campaign.
Since the final presidential debate, Obama has hit three to four states a day almost every day (with the exception of the days he remained in Washington last week to handle the Hurricane) on behalf of his reelection campaign. He will also be throwing huge concerts/rallies Saturday, Sunday and Monday nights in Virginia and Ohio as part of an effort to re-excite his 2008 supporters and drive them to the polls.
Where Obama’s sudden enthusiasm for the 2012 presidential race is coming from, however, the Red Alert Politics staff doesn’t care to know.
