Ivy League psychiatrists petition Congress to remove Trump from office

Despite the 2016 election being several months ago, many liberals have refused to accept that Donald Trump is President and are instead, focusing on ways to obstruct and impeach him. The latest example of liberal denial comes via a group of psychiatrists from Harvard, Yale, and the University of California, San Francisco.

The trio of psychiatrists claim that Trump is “unraveling” and are calling on Congressional leaders to remove him from office.

In an open letter published to all members of Congress, the professors cite reasons for removal such as Trump’s budget cuts at the State Department, as well as his determination to ensure American’s receive a fair deal when it comes to the Paris Climate Agreement.

“The signs of the president’s unraveling are stark, and they are contributing to his inability to govern: his decimation of the State Department and other vital government agencies, his irrational, unilateral withdrawal from the world’s commitment to prevent catastrophic climate change…”

The letter goes on to discuss the constitutional methods for removing a President from power through impeachment.

“Our Constitution has provisions for removing any president who is unable to discharge the duties of office. For the sake of our country and the world, we urge our elected representatives to summon their courage so that lawful steps can be taken to end the Trump presidency.”

While parading political views as medical advice has long been a practice of liberals, it has recently become more prevalent as the Republicans seek to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. Numerous political advocacy groups have published statements by doctors claiming that the GOP’s American Health Care Act (AHCA) legislation will literally “kill people,” or that climate change makes Americans more violent.

While the psychiatrists’ letter is likely nothing more than a publicity stunt for the academics, it is concerning that all of the signatories are tenured professors at well-respected medical schools. Faculty in these positions have a great deal of influence on students who come to study medicine, and are likely imparting their political views in the name of medical education.
