As the national discourse has skipped along from the July jobs report, to negative campaign ads, to the new GOP vice presidential pick, the Republican National Committee points out, President Obama has yet to personally answer questions about either.
“It’s been almost eight weeks since President Obama last took questions from the White House press corps,” the RNC notes in a memo to be released Tuesday. “Since then, a lot has happened, and the American people are demanding answers on a growing list of issues.
“When will President Obama quit ducking and dodging? When will he hold himself accountable?”
The president did take a question from the press corps just a few weeks ago, on gun control, although he hasn’t held a press conference.
