[WATCH] Students blame Republicans for student loan interest rates doubling, say they should all be “put to death”

In a video released by Campus Reform on Thursday, Georgetown students revealed some deep-rooted frustration with the Republican party, going as far as saying all Republicans “should probably be put to death.”

The startling response came as Campus Reform’s Katherine Timpf was interviewing students about their  thoughts on the Republican party and student loan interest rates.

“I don’t think I support anything the Republicans do,” an unidentified Georgetown student told Campus Reform. “I think all of them should probably be put to death.”

“That’s a little harsh,” countered another student who was on the sidelines.

“No, it’s not,” replied the first student as he walked away.

When another coed was asked about the recent increase in student loan interest rates, he stated that allowing them to double was “douchey.”

“Generally, I think that the doubling of my interest rates for no reason really is somewhat arbitrary and kind of, for lack of a better term, douchey,” the student said.

But the students failed to realize that it was Senate Democrats who refused to compromise before student loan interest rates doubled from 3.4 to 6.8 percent July 1.

Republicans, on the other hand, along with moderate Democrats, passed a bill in the House that would tie student loan interest rates to the the market keeping them at 3.4 percent — a plan President Obama supported during his campaign for office.
