Here’s a lesson in ‘What Not To Do 101’: Use all caps and expletives on the Facebook page of your restaurant.
Apparently no one taught that to Samy and Amy Bouzaglo, owners of Amy’s Baking Company Bakery Boutique & Bistro. The couple and their restaurant were featured in an episode of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s TV show “Kitchen Nightmares” — and it wasn’t a positive portrayal.
During the episode, Ramsay gave up trying to help the couple, saying they couldn’t accept any criticism and were unlikely to actually implement any changes he suggested. The show also revealed the couple steals tips from the waitstaff and uses frozen ravioli. After the episode aired, the Bouzaglo duo faced harsh criticism on Facebook, Yelp and Reddit.
Their response? Fighting back — in a way that only made matters worse. They also apparently photoshopped a Reddit thread to make it seem like Redditors had been called by the police for their involvement in the Internet brawl.
While the offensive posts have now been removed, they can be viewed on BuzzFeed and Mashable. After the posts were removed, the owners posted that their Facebook site had been hacked.
But even if that is true, another NSFW post from 2012 shows the couple doesn’t shy away from fighting with their online foes. Unless, of course, the Bouzaglos decide to blame that on hackers too.
