Sanders to hold massive rally on eve of DNC in Philadelphia: 15,000 to 40,000 attendees

Supporters of Bernie Sanders are planning a series of marches and protests during the Democratic National Convention. Since the FBI announced that Hillary Clinton will not be charged for transmitting classified information on a private email server, Sanders’ supporters are more determined than ever to keep Clinton out of the White House.

Far from unifying the Democratic Party, the upcoming presidential election has served to drive a greater wedge between Clinton and Sanders supporters.

The Sanders campaign has requested permission to hold a rally on July 24, the eve of the Democratic National Convention, according to the Burlington Free Press. The permit application suggests that between 15,000 and 40,000 people will be in attendance.

March for Bernie, an unofficial group of Sanders supporters, will simultaneously hold marches around the country on July 24 as well. Marches are scheduled to take place in 25 states, including the District of Columbia, in a show of support for Sanders to be the Democratic nominee.

March on DNC is also planning peaceful protests during the Democratic National Convention on July 24-28. Sanders supporters across the country are uniting to help with expenses. A rally bus program has been instituted, as well as Facebook pages to coordinate housing accommodation for protestors and participants.

Despite the fact that party leaders want unity to defeat Donald Trump, devout Sanders supports cling to their convictions that Sanders is the rightful nominee, not Clinton.

“I can understand the need to try to rally all hands on deck against the Republican rival, regardless of who that is, but anyone who does not realize that Bernie is the candidate that can pool the most voters behind a socio-political platform to defeat a Republican has their head in the sand,”Brandi Mizilca wrote on Thom Hartmann.

Sanders, who said that the FBI decision won’t affect his campaign, challenged his supporters to keep fighting. It appears as though his supporters have taken that call to heart.
