It’s the grassroots vs. the astroturf, and in another not-so-stunning turn of events, it turns out that the SEIU has taken a page from the AFL-CIO and paid its employees to protest those on the Right. In an attempt to disrupt a Romney rally just outside Cleveland yesterday, the union bussed several members to the GOP Presidential candidate’s event and shelled out cash for them to shout and hold signs.
In another video from RealFreedom1776 posted on YouTube yesterday, a handful of SEIU employees are seen marching on a sidewalk in Bedford, Ohio shouting, “Romney go home!” After confirming that they were all union members, the videographer/reporter asked several members how they had got there and if they were paid.
“We rode down here today… they paying $11 an hour,” said one gentleman holding a purple sign that read “SEIU for Obama 2012.”
When asked if the SEIU did a great job of organizing the rally, one woman responded, “They did a really awesome job.”
Yesterday, RealFreedom1776 released a video of a woman at the same protest claiming that Obama had given her a phone. When asked how to obtain a free phone, the woman said one can receive it simply by signing up for food stamps, social security, disability, etc.
In email after email and speech after speech, President Obama and his administration claim to be fundraising the “right way” and reaching out to average Americans for help in his reelection bid. It turns out that the “help” he is receiving comes from large unions who are paying their members to protest his opponent.
So much for a genuine grassroots campaign.
