In an what could be seen as a display of racism towards a U.S. Army veteran and sitting U.S. congressman, Rep. Allen West’s, R-Fla, challenger Sheriff Bob Crowder, his Republican primary opponent, has told him to, “Go back to Plantation, not Washington.”
Crowder has been described as a “Democratic plant” and as “Democrat lite” in the GOP primary by the Shark Tank blog.
The sheriff’s remarks came during a political forum discussion for the Hobe Sound Chamber of Commerce in Florida.
Oddly enough, a citizen supporting Crowder quoted the remarks again in a letter to the TC Palm that criticized West and sought to promote his Democrat challenger.
Sheriff Crowder also accused Rep. West of being “Washington’s representative here (in Florida).”
Liberal have previously displayed racism towards Allen West, currently the only Republican member of the Congressional Black Caucus. Comedian Bill Maher recently labeled the GOP as the “Party of the Apes,” and singled out West as needing medical evaluation because of his opinions.
West is currently running his first re-election campaign for his congressional seat since being elected in 2010. Part of the area that Congressman West represents is Plantation, Florida
Correction: The story originally said Bob Crowder was a Democrat. We regret the error.
