Jimmy Fallon talks with the American hero who helped stop a gunman on French train

Jimmy Fallon had the American hero Anthony Sadler on his show Tuesday to discuss how he saved a train full of people from a would-be terrorist attack in France.

The incident happened at about 5pm on August 21, 2015.

“We (Sadler and his two friends) were in the middle of our Europe trip on our way to Paris, coming from Amsterdam,” Sadler said. “I was actually sleeping at the time and I hear a gunshot and glass breaking. I didn’t notice but a train employee sprinted down the hallway and the commotion woke me up.”

Sadler said he was stunned to see the gunman board the train with an AK-47.

“I was like, is this real?” he continued. “I look at my friends and they said, ‘go,’ and I just followed them.”

The three young men were able to disarm the gunman and save dozens of lives.
