Jay Carney in denial that Obama Administration is partly responsible for scandals

Even with the media mocking his every impression, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney is having a pretty good week – considering he’s completely unconvinced that the Obama Administration is in some part responsible for the three scandals that have engulfed Washington, D.C. over the past few weeks.

During an appearance on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Live,” Carney attempted to “dismiss the premise – the idea that these are scandals” in relation to the many debacles that have unfolded over the past weeks – Benghazi, the seizure of Associated Press phone records by the Department of Justice and the Internal Revenue Service’s targeting of specific conservative groups.

“I would say that it’s been a challenging week, but in many ways a week that I’ve enjoyed,” Carney told Morgan.

In fact, Carney referred to the Benghazi cover-up as “a total concoction by Republicans,” which is consistent with what he’s been saying over the past few weeks.

“What the release of these emails show is that Republicans are wrong,” Carney said.  “They were wrong then, and they’re wrong now.”

Even the IRS managed to escape the ‘scandal’ label, as Carney chose to call it “inappropriate behavior” that merely required a scolding from President Obama to rectify.

“The president spoke out about what happened with the IRS as soon as he found out about the inappropriate and wrong conduct by IRS personnel,” Carney told Morgan.  “He made clear he thought it was an outrage.”

Of course, thanks to the president’s outrage and chastising of the tax collecting government agency, Carney recognized Obama as the “only person who has taken action against the inappropriate behavior.”
