The majority of college students prefer Hillary Clinton over Vice President Joe Biden as a 2016 candidate.
Biden is actively exploring a possible presidential campaign, but if he chooses to run, he’ll have to compete with Hillary for the youth vote.
In a survey released on Monday by online textbook company Chegg, 40 percent of college students said Biden should “absolutely” launch his own presidential campaign to challenge Clinton, while 54 percent said Biden should not enter the race. The students against Biden’s campaign cited concerns that he would split the Democrats, and would ultimately be unable to beat Clinton.
42 percent of students surveyed said Clinton is the candidate most likely to win the presidency, followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders at 17 percent.
When asked about the first GOP presidential debate on Aug. 6, the majority (26 percent) of college students said Donald Trump won.
16 percent said former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush came out on top, while 14 percent thought Sen. Marco Rubio won, and 10 percent chose Sen. Rand Paul.
