Laura Ingraham: ‘Any random MSNBC host’ could write Obama’s ‘lame’ tweets

Radio host Laura Ingraham discussed the silliness of President Obama’s Twitter account on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday, criticizing the president for allowing a political group like Organizing for Action to monopolize his presence on the social media site.

“Maybe we shouldn’t really have tweets being sent out by the President of the United States,” Ingraham suggested. “I mean, isn’t that kind of silly in and of itself? I mean, we all tweet, but we’re commentators, analysts, anchors.”

She also questioned the fact that Obama might not be aware of the tweets that are sent out by Organizing for Action from his account, a claim that press secretary Josh Earnest made at Monday’s press briefing.

“We’re supposed to believe that, ‘Oh, well that’s all separate from me. We don’t know what they’re sending out’?” Ingraham said.

Earnest was responding to ABC News reporter Jonathan Karl, who questioned the press secretary on a specific tweet sent out by @BarackObama after the Hobby Lobby ruling that accused the Supreme Court of putting women’s health care decisions in the hands of their bosses. Earnest said the president might not have been “aware” of the Twitter post.

“That tweet could have been sent out from any random MSNBC host,” Ingraham told the “Fox & Friends” crew. “It doesn’t exactly sound like a presidential declaration about the judicial branch. I mean, it’s very sophomoric and quite silly and unserious.”

She also called the tweet “lame.”

Ingraham said that Obama probably doesn’t put an end to Organizing for Action’s tweet operation because his Twitter presence serve a political purpose.

“He could probably shut that down pretty fast,” the radio host speculated, “but that serves a purpose to continue to stoke and satisfy the left and to keep the whole political invective going, and so I’m sure they’re happy to have that thing that they’re circulating.”
