Jim Carrey isn’t the only Hollywood big-shot releasing an anti-gun song. Now Snoop Lion is getting in on the act, with his new single “No Guns Allowed.”
When the artist formerly known as Snoop Dogg is not changing his stage name, he’s now promoting gun control.
Here’s an excerpt of his new Rastafarian-esque song:
When the bodies hit the ground, there’s nothing left to say, ay, ay
Me don’t want to see no more innocent blood shed
Me don’t want to see no more youth dead.”
The music video also features footage of several school shootings including Sandy Hook, Aurora and Columbine — not to mention a clip of Obama speaking about the Sandy Hook shooting. There’s also one scene in the music video where a group of children appear as though they are playing “spin the bottle” but use a handgun to play the game instead of a bottle.
“No Guns Allowed,” is a single from Snoop’s upcoming album “Reincarnated.” The album name corresponds with his new stage name, both launched after his trip to Jamaica and subsequent conversion to Rastafari.
Drake, who also makes an appearance in the video, dedicates the song to Shyanne Charles and Joshua Yasay, both victims of a Toronto shooting at a block party back in July, who he has tweeted about in the past.
My condolences go out to the family and friends of Shyanne Charles and Joshua Yasay. Senseless violence in Toronto has to stop.

Drake raps:
It is the shooter that picks ’em
They just can’t wait to get you in the system
The district attorney could use a conviction
Told you no guns and then you didn’t listen
Snoop’s daughter Cory B. is also spotlighted in the music video.
“Cause, no guns are allowed, in here tonight; We’re gonna have a free-for-all, no fights,” she sings with her dad.
At the very least, this pro gun control song is still a huge step up from Jim Carrey’s vicious anti-Second Amendment single “Cold Dead Hands.”
