Ex-Green Jobs Czar Van Jones says Democrats need to become “more partisan” and dismisses the let’s get along rhetoric of other mainstream liberals.
He arguably has become one of the most influential Democratic operatives in the game today.
Jones’s group Color of Change has been in the forefront of rattling the cages of sponsors of the American Legislative Exchange Council. His pressure tactics have led to McDonald’s, Coca-Cola and others to drop their sponsorship, and to the conservative group’s announcement that it would no longer push Voter ID laws.
He told Democrats during a recent talk show appearance that they need to take stronger stand on issues they care about because the Republican Party has moved to the right and “has to deny science”, noting Allen West’s comments calling members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus “communists”.
“They distort and lie as a matter of routine,” Jones said.
