Sarah Palin to return to ‘Saturday Night Live’ for 40th Anniversary Show

Sarah Palin will reportedly return to “Saturday Night Live” for its 40th Anniversary Show next weekend.

SNL producer Lorne Michaels invited Palin to return to the show and the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate accepted, People magazine reported.

Palin was famously portrayed on the show by Tina Fey and appeared once on the show alongside the comedian. Palin’s appearance set ratings records for the show back in 2008, according to Politico.

Palin has spoken out about her experience on “SNL” several times since then, commenting in 2013 that she considers them her “really good friends.”

“They should think of me as a friend,” she said. “You know for a while there I was providing more job security for the Tina Feys of the world.”

She also commented for the updated edition of the Saturday Night Live oral history, “Live From New York.”

“I think “SNL” is egotistical if they believe that it was truly an effect on maybe the public debate about who should lead the country in the next four years,” Palin said.

She also joked about her portrayal on the show.

“If I ran into Tina Fey again today, I would say: “You need to at least pay for my kids’ braces or something from all the money that you made off of pretending that you’re me! My goodness, you capitalized on that! Can’t you contribute a little bit? Jeez!”

Fey and a long list of other previous “SNL” stars will also be back for the 40th anniversary show.
