Only 2 percent of American voters are “very satisfied” with the way the nation is going. The results come from a Quinnipiac poll released Monday.

Not only are so few Americans satisfied with the way things are going, but a large majority — 71 percent — are dissatisfied. A plurality of voters, at 41 percent, are “very dissatisfied.”

It’s no wonder the results are so dismal when the numbers are broken down in terms of the favorability of Congress and the federal government.

Just 2 percent of voters are “enthusiastic” with regards to the federal government, while 49 percent are “dissatisfied but not angry.”

Republicans in Congress have a 12 percent job approval rating, while 81 percent disapprove. The Republican Party also has a negative rating, at 31 to 58 favorability.

While the disapproval rating is not as strong, Americans views Democrats negatively as well.

Democrats in Congress have a 66 to 27 disapproval rating and the Democratic Party overall has a negative 40 to 50 percent rating.

Voters also not surprisingly disapprove of the job President Obama is doing, 53 to 45 percent.
